St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions (SJII) in Bangalore is a group of Catholic educational institutions offering primary, secondary, pre-university, and community college education. It was founded by the Paris Foreign Missions Society in 1904 and has been administered by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) since 1937.
What started as a school for European boys on Museum Road has grown over the decades into a thriving educational campus. The school moved to its current location in 1972, with infrastructure support from the Sports Authority of India, including a swimming pool, gym, and hostel.
A new high school and pre-university building was inaugurated in December 2006. In 2007, the St. Joseph’s Community College was also launched to provide skill training and employment support to rural and underprivileged youth.
The high school comprises 21 classes with over 3,000 students. Each student belongs to one of the four school houses. An active Student Council organizes key events like Sports Day and the vibrant cultural fest “Prerana.”
